FAQs
What is included in the party room?
The private party room has cafeteria style table/seating for 16-20, with additional chairs available, and counter space for food, drinks, gifts, etc. You will have use of the party room for the entire 2 hours of your scheduled time.
Can I bring outside food and decorations?
Yes! Outside food, drinks, and decorations are welcome inside the party room. Please do not bring any outside items into the animal area. Each animal is on a specific diet for their health and safety; balloons, noisemakers, and other party items may frighten the animals. Decorations may not be adhered to any part of the room (tape, pins, glue, nails, etc.). You may arrive up to 30 minutes prior to your party start time to set up and settle in.
Can I bring my pet, emotional support animal, or service animal?
Pets and emotional support animals are NOT allowed. The ADA states that “emotional support, therapy, comfort, or companion animals” are not “considered service animals under the ADA”.
Service dogs may be allowed in the private party room, but not in the animal area. The ADA states “service animals can be restricted from areas where the animals on display are the natural prey or natural predators of dogs, where the presence of a dog would be disruptive, causing the displayed animals to behave aggressively or become agitated”.
Please contact us with questions.
Please refer to ADA.gov for further information.
What should I expect when I arrive?
There is plenty of space for parking; please park on the gravel and not the grass. You can arrive up to 30 minutes prior to your party start time to set up and settle in to your private room. The room will NOT be available any earlier. There is a small waiting area just inside the entrance you are welcome to use. Our staff will be available to help you settle in and address any questions or concerns you may have throughout your entire time here. Please be aware that the first hour with the animals starts at your scheduled start time; if you or your guests are late, you will not have your full hour with the animals or your full 2 hours in the party room.
Where is the party held? What should I expect?
Our barnyard parties are held in a barn. The barn has dirt, dust, and uneven walking areas. The private party rooms are renovated stalls. We have cleaned and blown them out, and put down artificial turf to help keep the dirt to a minimum in those rooms. Between the entrance and the party rooms and the party rooms to the animal area, there is one step to enter each space. The animal area is adjacent to the party room. The path to the party room and the animal area has a dirt floor. While our animals do not reside in the barn, it may smell like they do. Be aware that animals poop where they stand; while we try to remove it as soon as possible from the area, be aware of where you are stepping. Closed toed shoes are highly recommended.
What should I expect during the party?
Your time starts when your party is scheduled; our staff will quickly go over safety rules of the animal area. These will also be included in your party contract and posted in the animal area. If anyone is unable to adhere to the safety rules, they will be excused from the animal area. Remember that our staff is available for any questions or concerns; please reach out at any time during the party!
The first hour of the party is for animal interactions. Animals are enclosed in fences within the area. Guests are welcome to enter the enclosures for the goats, miniature donkey, and mini zebu calf. Goats are very friendly and curious and may jump up or step on you (another reason for close toed shoes!); the only way to avoid this is to not enter the goat enclosure! You can still pet the goats from outside the enclosure. Rabbits are in an enclosure that allows guests to reach in to pet them. Other animals may be kept behind a fence with no entry, but with access to touch and pet. If pony rides are part of your party: pony rides are unlimited for the first hour for kids ages 2-13 only, and under 100 pounds for the larger pony, and under 60 pounds for our smaller pony (NO EXCEPTIONS). Horse riding helmets are REQUIRED (and supplied) for all riders. Ponies are lead by our staff.
Hand washing with soap and water is highly recommended after being in the animal area. One bathroom is available along with an additional hand washing station; sanitizer is also available but is not a substitution for soap and water.
The second hour of your scheduled time is spent in the private room for food, drinks, gift opening, etc. Please be ready to leave at your scheduled party end time. This includes packing up. Clean up is appreciated, but not required.
